sneek peek: teen halloween party

Last week I put together a mixed-up mystery dinner for a local church youth group of 12 & 13 year olds. It was so fun and kids that age are very entertaining to watch. (I forgot about all of the peer pressure that they are surrounded by.) I think this will be an easy and inexpensive party for you to recreate. So over the next two weeks I'll be posting the 10 steps I used to create this party and it will all wrap up in plenty of time for Halloween. Please forgive the photography of the party, I took the pictures myself.

Well I think the pictures look pretty great...Love your tree, not so spooky but still has a touch of spook if you know what I am saying. Look forward to all your party ideas...I love your blog!

I agree with you about the "teen peer pressure"....with a 14-year old daughter, there is really no escaping it. The tree looks fab. I can't wait to see the other ideas.....My daughter may be inviting some friends over for a Halloween "hangout" (as opposed to a Halloween "party"). What's the difference, I asked? Never did get an answer! Of course, my inner craftiness started to go into overdrive .... pumpkin decorating or cupcake decorating contests; trick or treating as a "group theme" (like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) ~~ none of these ideas got a thumbs up, as a matter of fact, I was laughed at!!!! Oh well....I tried!!!

Beautiful website! Love your ideas, you make is simple and accesible/afforable with your honesty about what to use, improvise, etc. Love your ideas! You keep it REAL!!! Thank you for sharing~~Now a ??~~~Where did you get your black Halloween tree? I want one but don't want to pay too much. Saw one @ Target but it was hecka pricey! Also checked out Homegoods, to no avail...

Kimber--this party was hosted at a neighbor's house. She has an insane amount of decorations for every holiday, so this was definitely the perfect place to have a Halloween party. I don't know where she got her tree though. Sorry.
